Ed Comeau is the publisher of Campus Firewatch and was the founding director of the Center for Campus Fire Safety and the chief fire investigator for the National Fire Protection Association.
 
Parents    
Andy Grooms lost his son, Andrew, in a residence hall fire at Catawba College, Salisbury, North Carolina, in 2001.  Mr. Grooms currently resides in New Mexico.  Doug and Linda Turnbull lost their daughter, Julie, in an off-campus fire at Miami University in 2005.  Mr. and Mrs. Turnbull currently reside in Ohio. 
Gail Minger lost her son, Michael, in a residence hall fire at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, 1998.  Mrs. Minger currently resides in Florida.  Kimberly Wencl lost her daughter, Elizabeth, in an off-campus fire at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.  Mrs. Wencl currently resides in Minnesota.
  Linda and Gary Schlittler lost their son, Brian, in an off-campus fire the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2006.  Mr and Mrs. Schlittler currently reside in Missouri.  Bonnie Woodruff lost her son, Ben, in a fraternity fire at the University of North Carolina in 1996.  Mrs. Woodruff currently resides in North Carolina.
  Edye Smith lost her son, Stephen, in an off-campus fire at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2005.  Mrs. Smith currently resides in Maryland.  
Advocates    

Shawn Longerich is the executive director of the People’s Burn Foundation of Indiana and has been closely involved in the development of a cutting edge campus fire safety program called To Hell and Back III – College Awareness.

Cindy Stellhorn is a vice president with MJ Insurance, an independent insurance agency, specializing in writing women’s Greek lettered organizations.
Pat Mieszala, RN is an educator in burn awareness, rehabilitation, prevention, and fire and life safety.  In addition to working on the current College Awareness Program team, she has served as an advisor and special expert to the Peoples Burn Foundation in all three To Hell and Back grant projects.    
Fire Officials    

Kevin Ply is fire chief of the Purdue University Fire Department in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Dan Jones is fire chief of the Chapel Hill Fire Department.  In 1996, five students were killed in a fraternity fire that lead to sweeping code changes in Chapel Hill and raised awareness across the nation.
Cliff Jones is the fire chief of Tempe, Arizona, home of Arizona State University.    
Campus Administrator  

Carol Hagans, PhD, is assistant dean of student affairs at Butler University in Indiana.  Dr. Hagans is an expert on the Millennial Student and can speak to what makes this generation “tick.”  An interview with Dr. Hagans is available on Campus Firewatch Radio.

Garry Beach is the fire marshal for the University of Kentucky with 39 years of experience in campus fire safety.
